Dog Behaviour
One to One - Behaviour Modification
Why did I become a behaviorist? Going back to my "Why Story" Tigger's issues when he first came to me couldn't all be fixed by training. I need to understand the "Whys? Hows? Becauses?" which meant looking further into his brain and how his hormones affected him. Sometimes we need to look deeper into a dog's eyes, watch them more and listen to what they are telling us.

These one-to-one tailored sessions are designed for you and your dog’s needs. Helping and managing issues, building confidence in the dog and guardian, supporting you through rough and challenging times, understanding adolescence, managing behavioral issues, and the list goes on...

How does this work?

When you contact me, I will arrange a 20 - 30 min free Discovery Call for me to get an idea of what's happening. This call is not a training or advice session. I will advise on the direction in which I can help you and your dog or, I will advise a different route.

Consultation
Because behavioural issues can be complex! I will ask many questions to be able to get a bigger picture of what's happening and look into your dogs day to day movements, diet, previous medical history, and training. This may be over Zoom or in person. From this information, I will write a bespoke programme for your dog and your learning, organise our next sessions,\ and put management into place. The consultation can take around 60-90 mins.

Three One-to-One Practical Sessions
I set a minimum of three sessions, this is included in your fee. There may be situations where there may be more sessions that are needed, these are charged at a lower rate. The one-to-one sessions are normally around 45 to 60 minutes long, though shorter sessions may be needed for dogs that are anxious. We can arrange shorter and extra sessions to accommodate. You will be given a plan for each session, with video links and ebooks if necessary. I will demonstrate the games in a safe environment where your dog feels comfortable at first. We will then build up to more challenging environments at a slow pace. you will have ongoing support via email/what's app/phone calls. Training and therapy are successful if you focus on progress over time, rather than a quick fix! The sessions are to be used in a 10-week period. Clients are to maintain contact with me.

The fee will be confirmed at the end of your Discovery Call after I have established what line of care is needed.
Extra may be charged for mileage.

Maintenance Sessions
These are recommended to follow up on training, to add or change future learning to maintain their behaviour, and to keep you and your dog growing stronger and more confident. These sessions will be around 40 - 60 minutes and can be done in person or over Zoom. We will have ongoing check-ins via email/what's app/phone calls. A minimum of a two session sign up and to be used within two months.
Extra may be charged for mileage. Clients are to maintain contact with me.

Please note - Behaviour issues are often linked to injury/illness. We recommend that your dog is checked over by your vet before contacting us.

Absolutely love training sessions with Maria - and most importantly so does our dog! It has helped us build our trust together and develop our relationship through fun games. She is always on hand with advice and support. Highly recommend
Booked some private sessions with Maria to help with an overly stimulated and energetic puppy who couldn't calm down.
She helped us with games and exercises that were fun, engaging and rewarding with our pup.
His attention towards us has improved, he's now able to calm down much quicker, and we've been given the tools to ensure we're giving him the best training and interaction we can to ensure he's a happy pup!
The exercises were excellently explained, clearly demonstrated, with well defined progression to increase the level of interaction and difficulty to stimulate our pups body and mind.
It's not hyperbolic to say she's changed our lives as things have improved so much.
We can't sing Maria's praises enough!

I just had my last training session (of 6) with Maria, to help with my reactive (rehomed) cockapoo, Dexter. I can't thank and recommend Maria enough. She really got to understand Dexter's history and training needs. We concentrated on keeping Dexter's bucket empty and he is so much calmer and less reactive, with everything we do now. Previous behaviourist's didn't help. Thank you so much Maria and I'll definitely be in touch for further top up training.
